On Saturday, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) made a significant seizure in Nyandarua, recovering 100kgs of elephant tusks valued at approximately Ksh.10 million.
According to reports, the operation was conducted by DCI detectives posing as customers following a tip-off from members of the public.
As a result of the raid, 42-year-old David Ndegwa was arrested and is currently in police custody awaiting arraignment. A hunt has been launched for another suspect who managed to escape.
