Chelsea's 2019/20 Premier League campaign is set to kick off with a challenging away trip to Manchester United on Sunday, August 11. This will be a significant test for new manager Frank Lampard, who has taken over the reins at Stamford Bridge.
Despite the injury concerns surrounding N'Golo Kante, Antonio Rudiger, and Willian, Lampard has a relatively fully fit squad to select from. Young players are expected to feature in the lineup, with Christian Pulisic likely to make his EPL debut after joining the club in January 2019.
With Eden Hazard having left for Real Madrid in the summer, Pulisic will be expected to fill the Belgian's big shoes. The former Borussia Dortmund star has been signed as the only new face at the club, following the imposition of a transfer ban by FIFA.
Chelsea's lineup against Manchester United is expected to feature Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal, with Cesar Azpilicueta, Kurt Zouma, Christensen, and Emerson providing cover in defense. Jorginho and Kante could be partnered in midfield alongside Mason Mount, Pedro, and Pulisic, who will play on the wing. Tammy Abraham will be tasked with hunting for goals upfront as the main striker.
