Michael Olunga Scores Hat-Trick in Japan for First Time ¶
Kenyan striker Michael Olunga made history in Japan on August 10, scoring a hat-trick in a 4-1 win for Kashiwa Reysol over Renofa Yamaguchi.
Published on August 11, 2019, Olunga's achievement marked his first hat-trick in Japan since joining Kashiwa Reysol a year ago.
He scored his first goal in the 3rd minute of the match, before equalizing in the 45th minute. The visitors, however, scored a consolation goal in the 69th minute, before Cristiano da Silva sealed the win for Kashiwa Reysol in the 90th minute.
With this win, Olunga has taken his tally to 11 goals in 18 matches for Kashiwa Reysol this season, propelling the team to the top of the league table with 55 points.
As the team celebrated their win, Olunga took to social media to express his gratitude to his fans, saying, 'Asante Mwenyezi Mungu, utukufu wote ni wako. Kwa mashabiki asanteni sana kwa msaada wenyu.'
