Man United vs Chelsea: Solskjaer Confident Ahead of Red Devils Season Opener ¶
Manchester United will face Chelsea in their season opener on Sunday, August 11, 2019, in the Premier League.
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed confidence in his team's ability to secure a win against Chelsea in their season opener.
Despite the departure of key players such as Romelu Lukaku, Ander Herrera, and Antonio Valencia, Solskjaer believes that his team has the potential to score goals against Chelsea.
"Of course Rom has a good record and stats he’s one of the top number nines around when you wanna play with that kind of striker, target man," Solskjaer said, referring to Lukaku.
"For me I’m very confident that we'll get goals from Martial, Rashford, James will create, I’m sure Jesse Lingard will get more. We have a different attacking set-up this month," he added.
Manchester United will be without Lukaku, who joined Inter Milan on transfer deadline day in a deal valued around £73 million.
However, Solskjaer is confident that his team can adapt to the new attacking set-up and secure a win against Chelsea.
"We have a different attacking set-up this month, and I’m sure we can get goals from our new players," Solskjaer said.
Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League last season, and will be looking to improve their performance in the new season.
