Dr Hezron Manduku, a renowned medical doctor and politician, has left an indelible mark on Kenyan politics and healthcare. Born in 1943, Dr Manduku pursued his medical career at the People's Friendship University of Russia between 1964 and 1969.
After completing his studies, Dr Manduku worked at various hospitals, including Kenyatta National Hospital, Kakamega Hospital, and Meru Hospital. In 1975, he established his private hospital, Hema Hospital, in Kisii, where he provided quality healthcare services to the community.
Dr Manduku's foray into politics began in 1992 when he was elected as the Nyaribari Masaba MP, a position he held for two terms. He served as the Foreign Affairs Assistant Minister and was re-elected in 2002 after a brief stint out of office in 1997.
On Saturday, August 11, 2019, Dr Manduku passed away at Nairobi Hospital at the age of 79, leaving behind a widow and children, including Dr Robert Manduku, who manages the family hospital.
Dr Manduku's legacy will be remembered for his contributions to Kenyan politics and healthcare. His dedication to serving the community will continue to inspire future generations.
