Former Miss Nairobi Institute of Business Studies (NIBS) Suzie Makena's life was tragically cut short in Dubai on her birthday, July 31, 2017.
According to her family, burial arrangements are underway, and they have been updating funeral plans through a Facebook page.

Before her untimely death, Suzie had shared her struggles with life hardships on social media, writing, 'Life is not that simple at times we cry alone, laugh it all out but your labour In God is never and will never be In vain.'
She also expressed her faith, saying, 'everything happens with a reason that God knows... And for everything I thank God coz his reasons, in the end, are just kind of ways to benefit us…praises to you jesus.'
On her last birthday, Suzie thanked her friends for their wishes, saying, 'First I bless you lord my king for today, For all who wished me a happy birthday I thank you all, for all who made my day a blessing I do appreciate it a lot, I feel blessed and so loved.'
