Kenyan striker Michael Olunga has made history in Japan, scoring his first hat-trick for Kashiwa Reysol in a thrilling 4-1 win over Renofa Yamaguchi on August 10, 2019.

With the win, Olunga cemented his place as the club's top scorer this season, having now scored 11 goals in 18 appearances for the team.

His impressive performance saw him score the opener just three minutes into the game, before doubling the lead at the hour mark. The visitors pulled one back, but Cristiano da Silva extended the lead in the 69th minute.

Olunga sealed his hat-trick at stoppage time, securing a 4-1 win for his side.

On social media, Olunga expressed his gratitude to fans for their support, saying, “Thank you God, all glory is yours. The fans were amazing, thank you for the support.”

With this win, Kashiwa Reysol has solidified their position at the top of the log with 55 points, four ahead of second-placed Kyoto Sanga.
