On a typical Sunday morning, many of us find ourselves in the kitchen, cooking up a storm for the week ahead. But have you ever stopped to think about the liquid that brings all the flavors together? For us, it's vegetable broth, and we're not alone. Using vegetable broth instead of water when cooking can elevate the flavor and consistency of your dishes, and making it at home is a healthy and nutritious option.

Published on August 11, 2019, this article highlights the benefits of homemade vegetable broth, which can be a great immune booster depending on your choice of vegetables. Celery, carrots, cabbage, onions, garlic, and turmeric are just a few of the ingredients that can be used to make a delicious and nutritious broth.

So, how do you make it? It's as easy as ABC. Simply heat some oil in a large cooking pot, fry your onion, add your choice of herbs, then add your choice of chopped vegetables. Heat up to allow the flavors to blend, add enough water to cover the vegetables, bring to a boil, then lower the heat and allow to simmer until the vegetables are cooked through. Either serve once cooked or leave to cool and store away in the fridge for up to five days or freeze for up to three months.

Vegetable broth can be eaten as a meal with bread or used as a base for soups, sauces, and gravy. So, next time you're cooking, consider making your own vegetable broth and reap the benefits of a healthy and delicious meal.
