Former MP Hezron Manduku Passes Away at 79 ¶
Dr Hezron Manduku, a former MP for Nyaribari Masaba constituency and assistant minister of Foreign Affairs in retired President Daniel Arap Moi's government, passed away on Saturday, August 10, at the age of 79.
According to his family, Manduku had been unwell for some time and was admitted to The Nairobi Hospital's ICU days before his death.
He was first elected to the National Assembly in 1992, beating Sam Ongeri, and served as Nyaribari Masaba MP for two terms.
Before entering politics, Manduku was a surgeon by profession and worked at various health facilities in Kenya, including Kenyatta National Hospital and Kakamega Hospital. He also founded his own private facility, Hema Hospital, in Kisii county.
He left behind a widow and children, including Dr Robert Manduku, who has been managing the family business.
Manduku studied medicine at the People's Friendship University of Russia between 1964 and 1969.
