Mwamba's Dala Sevens Cup Bid Ends in Shocking Defeat ¶

Mwamba RFC, reigning champions of the Kabeberi Sevens, suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Northern Suburbs in the Dala Sevens tournament. The loss ended their hopes of advancing to the Main Cup quarterfinals.
The match, played under scorching afternoon heat in Kisumu, saw Northern Suburbs' Brian Omondi and Felix Omondi score tries, while Willis Juma converted both. Mwamba's lone try was scored by Micheal Ogevi, with Tony Omondi converting.
Despite their initial success in the tournament, Mwamba's loss to Impala Saracens in their second round match had already put their chances of advancing to the Main Cup in jeopardy. They needed to win their final pool match against Suburbs to salvage their hopes.
Meanwhile, Impala Saracens and Northern Suburbs proceeded to the last eight, with the latter topping Pool A. Impala Saracens also secured a spot in the quarterfinals after defeating Kisumu RFC 12-0.
Impala Saracens will face Masinde Muliro in tomorrow's Main Cup quarterfinals, while Menengai Oilers will face Suburbs. Top Fry Nakuru will have a crunch date with Homeboyz, and KCB will collide with Nondescripts.
