On Saturday evening, Gor Mahia will depart for Burundi, where they will face Aigle Noir in a preliminary Caf Champions League tie on Sunday. The team will be traveling with a slim squad of just 15 players.

The reduced squad is a result of the team's late registration issues, which saw them initially register 25 players for their Caf assignments this season. However, they made several changes, leading to some players being left behind, including new signings Gislain Yikpe and Francis Afryie.

Additionally, Dennis Oliech and custodian Boniface Oluoch will not be making the trip. The team's problems have been compounded by the recent termination of their sponsorship deal with SportPesa, which was worth Ksh 65 million per annum.

The traveling squad includes:

  • Players: Fredrick Odhiambo, Robert Mapigano, Geoffrey Ochieng, Shafik Batambuze, Wellington Ochieng, Joash Onyango, Kenneth Miguna, Tobias Otieno, Dickson Ambundo, Samuel Onyango, Lawrence Juma, Nicholas Kiprui, Joachim Oluoch, Charles Momanyi, Boniface Omondi
  • Technical bench: Steven Pollack – Head Coach, Patrick Okumu – D/Head Coach, Willys Oganyo – GK coach, Patrick Otieno – Team Doctor, Jolawi Obondo- Team Manager
