Ghanaian Woman Takes Prostitutes Off Streets, Equips Them with Skills ¶
For two years, a Ghanaian woman has been rescuing prostitutes from the streets and equipping them with skills to start their own businesses.
Through her organization, Diana Adjei's Aseda Foundation, she has taken in over 3,500 prostitutes and provided them with training in hairdressing and makeup.
According to MTN, the foundation has also provided the women with 400 machines to start their own salons and other equipment to help them establish their own businesses.
"I was moved by the plight of these women and decided to take action," Diana said in an interview. "I started by taking them in and teaching them a trade, and then we started a salon together where they could earn a living."
Since the foundation was established in 2017, Diana has provided the women with the skills and resources they need to start their own businesses and become self-sufficient.
"My goal is to empower these women and give them a chance to start a new life," Diana said.
Through her efforts, many of the women have been able to start their own businesses and become successful entrepreneurs.
"I am proud of what we have achieved so far, and I am committed to continuing our work to help these women and others like them," Diana said.
