On transfer deadline day, Arsenal finally signed Scotland left-back Kieran Tierney from Celtic for £25 million.

However, the 22-year-old has not played since May, having undergone a hernia operation, and it appears he will not make his Premier League debut until after the next international break.

According to Metro, Tierney was overheard telling centre-back Rob Holding that he would not be back until the end of September.

Tierney will wear the No3 shirt in Unai Emery's new-look Arsenal team, but will face competition for the left-back spot from Sead Kolasinac and Nacho Monreal.

On his move from Celtic, Tierney said, 'It was the hardest decision in my whole life that I've had to make. I had to speak to my family and my close friends and my agent as well because it's a hard decision to leave a club that you love so much.'
