On August 10, 2019, a devastating fuel tanker explosion occurred in Tanzania, claiming the lives of 57 people and leaving 65 others injured.

The tragic incident took place approximately 200 km west of the capital city, Dar es Salaam.

Government spokesman Hassan Abbasi expressed his condolences on Twitter, stating, 'We have been saddened by reports of an accident involving a fuel truck in Morogoro, which caught fire and burned several people.'
