Published on August 10, 2019, Nairobi County Woman Representative Esther Passaris made headlines on Twitter after she tactfully handled an admirer who invited her for coffee.
It all started when Barno.Onyi took to Twitter to compliment Passaris, saying, 'Wow you are so hot ma'am. Can I invite you for coffee, please?' However, his pick-up line failed to work its magic on Passaris, who asked him to provide three reasons why she should join him for coffee.
Passaris responded, 'You got to give me three reasons why I should have a coffee with you? 'You are so hot ma'am' won't cut it. Though I do like my coffee hot.'
Netizens quickly came to the aid of the admirer, suggesting reasons he could use to convince Passaris to go on a coffee date. Some urged him on, while others advised him to up his game and offered suggestions on how to approach the legislator.
Passaris critiqued some of the suggestions and politely declined the invitation, saying, 'Thanks so much Hon. Please accept my compliment, it wasn't intended for mstari. As for the three reasons, I think it's wise I give them over coffee. It's a coincidence I too love it hot.'
