On Friday, Deputy President William Ruto led a team to Ziwa, Uasin Gishu County, for a traditional dowry negotiation ceremony.
The ceremony, known as 'Koito', involves elders from the groom and bride's sides negotiating the dowry.
DP Ruto's brother, David Ruto Samoei, a businessman, was marrying his long-time sweetheart Carol Kitur.
Other attendees included Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago, Soy MP Caleb Kostany, and Uasin Gishu Woman Rep Gladys Shollei.
During the event, the groom's family formally met the bride's family, and a proper introduction was made to prevent the possibility of blood relatives marrying each other.
