On August 10, 2019, Fatma's life took a dramatic turn when she discovered that her ex-lover, Brian, had been scamming her and two other women out of nearly Sh2 million.

According to Fatma, Brian's behavior changed after she gave him money, and she began to suspect that something was amiss.

"The first sign that something was up was when Brian stopped being as keen as he had been before I gave him the money," Fatma recalls.

After a month of cat-and-mouse games, Fatma's gut feeling turned into a loud noise in her head, and she hired a private investigator to gather evidence.

The investigator found that Brian had been dating at least two other women the entire time he had been seeing Fatma, and they all thought it was a serious affair.

"He told them the car is his," Fatma says, referring to her Mercedes, which Brian used to meet the other women.

Both women were asked for money, with one being told to invest in Brian's online business and the other being asked for close to a million shillings.

Despite efforts to reach Brian, he seems to have gone underground, with Fatma suspecting that he may have crossed the border into Tanzania.
