Published on August 9, 2019, Sportpesa has announced its decision to withdraw its sponsorship from sports clubs in Kenya.

The company cited challenging business environment and lack of support from the sports regulatory bodies as the main reasons for its decision.

Notably, Sportpesa has been a major sponsor of several sports clubs in Kenya, including Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

According to Sportpesa, the clubs and their stakeholders have been notified of the decision, which is expected to take effect immediately.

The company also stated that it has been operating in Kenya for five years and has been committed to following the law and regulations.

However, Sportpesa expressed its disappointment with the current situation and hopes that a solution will be found soon.
