Kenya's High-Profile Delegation to the US ¶
On August 3, 2019, a group of 85 lawmakers, led by Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Senate Minority Leader James Orengo, departed Nairobi for a trip to the United States, sponsored by the Kenya Revenue Authority.
The delegation, which included senators, members of parliament, and parliamentary staff, was part of a larger group of lawmakers from Africa who attended the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) in Tennessee.
Kenya was represented by a large contingent of lawmakers, with 85 delegates attending the conference. This was in contrast to Nigeria, which sent only 20 delegates.
