Deputy President William Ruto attended a traditional dowry negotiation ceremony at Lake in Uasin Gishu County, where he was accompanied by his brother, David Ruto Samoei.
The ceremony, known as a 'koito,' is a significant event in the lives of the couple, who have been living together and have even been blessed with children.
During the ceremony, William Ruto took on the role of introducing his family and guests to his brother and his fiancée, Carol Kitur.
He also led a meeting to discuss the dowry, which was attended by politicians from Uasin Gishu and the Rift Valley region.
Notable attendees included Governor Jackson Mandago, Women Representative Gladys Sholei, and Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi.
The ceremony took place on August 9, 2019, and was filled with traditional music and dances.
