On August 8, 2019, Trueblaq Group Limited staff held a tribute to the firm's founder, Kevin Ombajo, alias Big Kev, as the company marked 18 years in business.
Big Kev, who passed away in July 2017 after a six-year battle with brain cancer, had undergone over 10 brain surgeries and lost his sight before his death.
Chairman Peter Nduati recalled how Big Kev had approached him a few years before his death to ask him to invest in the company.
'He is one of the pioneers in the events management industry who convinced the corporate world to join in sponsoring and identifying talents,' Nduati said.
Trueblaq has experienced significant growth in the last three years, with its turnover and profits doubling during the period, Nduati added.
Chief executive Jackee Ombajo called on corporates to adapt to emerging trends that show consumers want a more humane interaction with brands.
Dagoreti South MP John 'KJ' Kiarie, the chief guest, recalled how Big Kev had challenged him to vie for a political seat back in 2007.
