Joe Mwangi Embroiled in Controversy Over Alleged Exploitation of Wendy Waeni ¶
Joe Mwangi, a man who has managed to keep his alleged crooked ways under the radar, has found himself in a cash 22 situation following an interview on Citizen TV's JKL on Wednesday.
During the interview, gymnast Wendy Waeni accused her former manager Joe Mwangi of exploiting her talent for selfish reasons. This did not go well with a section of Kenyans, who took to social media to express their outrage.
Wendy Waeni, who has performed all over the world, including Rwanda, Germany, and China, claimed that she has never received a penny from her performances. She also alleged that her former manager controls her social media accounts and has been using them to post things that she does not really know about.
On Thursday, Joe Mwangi came out to give his side of the story, alleging that the minor might have been coached to give misleading information on national TV. He also claimed that he has never left the country in the company of Wendy Waeni and dared anyone who has proof to come forth.
However, a video that has been circulating on social media appears to have exposed Joe Mwangi's entire business dealings, which might lead him in the hands of the DCI. If proven guilty, he might be behind bars for a very long time.
Several Kenyans have come out to comment on Joe Mwangi's case, including Boniface Mwangi, who said that Joe Mwangi needs to account for everything he received on behalf of Wendy Waeni. Edwin Sifuna, the Secretary-General of The ODM party, also commented on the case, saying that he cancelled a cheque for Wendy's foundation after Joe Mwangi asked him to change it and write it in his name.
