On August 9, 2019, Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha issued a stern warning to ministry officials involved in corruption deals, stating that their time was running out.

Speaking at the launch of the civil society per-conference on national education reforms, Magoha emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism in the education sector.

He specifically warned that corruption and mismanagement of public funds would not be tolerated, calling on education stakeholders to take a proactive role in the fight against corruption.

Magoha also highlighted the ministry's efforts to disburse funds to various counties for infrastructural development, and assured that adequate funds had been allocated for the training of teachers in the wake of the Competence-based curriculum implementation.
