On August 7, 2019, Saumu Mbuvi, daughter of Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko, found herself at the receiving end of criticism from a social media user identified as 'Ma Kasaine.'
Ma Kasaine had taken issue with Saumu's decision to introduce her daughter to different men, including Lamu Senator Anwar, which she felt was not good for the child.
However, Saumu was not one to take the criticism lying down. She fired back at Ma Kasaine with a series of blunt responses, including:
ma_kasaine with your age… maisha yangu inakuashia nini…wewe lea wako utakavyo…this life didn´t come with a manual!! Let´s see how your daughter will turn out!!! Are you God to judge?
She also told Ma Kasaine to 'peleka menopause polepole' and to 'keep to yourself and your family not people´s kids.'
Saumu's responses were met with a mix of reactions from her followers, with some supporting her and others criticizing her for her blunt responses.
However, Saumu remained unapologetic, even going as far as to say that 'he who must destroy others to succeed must know that destruction awaits him at the gate of his success.'
She also cited her past as a good example to critics who think she hasn't faced life lessons and been toughened already, sharing that 'while they are waiting for her downfall, what they don't know is she has already stumbled, fell and got back up!! No turning back.'
