On August 9, 2019, a Nairobi court postponed the sentencing of rugby players Alex Olaba and Frank Wanyama, who were found guilty of raping a woman in 2018.

The duo, who pleaded guilty to gang-raping a musician, argued in court that they were young and inebriated during the incident.

According to the woman, she was raped overnight on her birthday, February 10, 2018, at Seefa Apartments in Highrise, Nairobi, and got pregnant as a result.

She also alleged that one of her attackers had threatened to sue her if she went public with the matter.
