Published on August 9, 2019, a trend in modern parenting has seen parents opting for unique baby names with different spellings, a concept known as 'virtue in rarity'.
However, despite this trend, some traditional favorites continue to remain popular, with 'Oliver' and 'Olivia' being two such names.
According to Kidspot, these names are not ideal for parents seeking a unique name for their child, as they are consistently featured in baby name charts.
While 'Oliver' has been a top choice in the UK since 2000, with many classrooms likely to have multiple pupils with this name, its popularity has also spread to the US.
Similarly, 'Olivia' has been a top choice for years, with the female version of 'Oliver' being just as popular.
Interestingly, this year, 'Olivia' came in as the third most popular name on the Nameberry site, with 'Isla' taking second place.
