Published on August 9, 2019, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) revealed that over 13,000 complaints have been lodged against police officers in Kenya.
The complaints majorly involve harassment, with many delays in solving complex cases due to the need for forensic analysis. According to Jeremiah Arodin, IPOA's head of investigations, the police often rely on their colleagues to submit results that could incriminate them, creating an odd situation.
