Marriage is a group dynamic, with each partner playing a crucial role in its success. The man is often seen as the president, while the woman is the prime minister. Effective leadership is essential in navigating the various stages of a marriage, including storming (dating), norming (courtship), forming (engagement and wedding), and performing (living together, raising children, and meeting life goals).
Many marriages dissolve at an early age due to factors such as immaturity, dictatorial leadership, impatience, and bonding problems. However, if a marriage survives these challenges, it can enter a stable phase, followed by another stormy phase during or after goal attainment.
During the goal attainment phase, the man may feel financially stable and accomplished, leading him to seek another wife or engage in extramarital affairs. Similarly, the woman may feel financially independent and free, leading her to seek new experiences or relationships.
Effective leadership styles, such as authoritarian, democratic, and laissez-faire, can be applied in marriage, depending on the couple's age and psychological disposition. A marriage between a man aged 35-45 and a woman aged 30-40 tends to be more successful due to their understanding and mature leadership.
Women empowerment is also a critical aspect of marriage. Men should not be intimidated by successful women and should instead seek to understand and fulfill their needs and desires. Women, on the other hand, should understand the utility value of money and use it to meet their needs and the needs of those around them.
Ultimately, a successful marriage requires respect, goodwill, mutual support, and love. By sticking to these values, couples can navigate the challenges of marriage and build a strong, lasting relationship.
