Family of Late Bomet Governor Considers Nomination for Deputy Governor

Edwin Abonyo, the husband of the late Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, has revealed that the family is considering a nomination for a deputy governor position in the county.

Abonyo made the announcement during the swearing-in ceremony of the new governor of Bomet, Hillary Barchok, on August 8, 2019.

According to Abonyo, the family has received several nominations for the position, but they will need to consult with each other before making a decision.

Abonyo emphasized that the family will not rush into making a decision and will take their time to consider the nominations.

He also stated that the family will seek the advice of the Deputy President William Ruto, who is expected to provide guidance on the matter.

Abonyo's statement comes after the Governor of Kirinyaga, Anne Waiguru, had suggested that the family of the late governor be considered for the position.

Waiguru had made the suggestion during the funeral of Laboso in Kisumu on August 3, 2019.

Laboso had appointed her daughter, Mina Laboso, as her assistant before her death, and it is believed that she may be considered for the deputy governor position.

Abonyo's statement has sparked interest in the community, with many wondering if the family will ultimately decide to nominate a candidate for the position.
