On August 8, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto attended the swearing-in ceremony of the new Bomet County Governor, Hillary Barchok, at the Green Stadium in Bomet.

During the ceremony, the Deputy President expressed his commitment to working with the new Governor and his team to ensure the success of the projects initiated by the late Governor Laboso.

Specifically, Ruto mentioned the proposed mother and child facility, which was a key initiative of the late Governor Laboso. He urged both the Bomet residents and the county assembly to support the new Governor in his efforts to run the county smoothly.

Hillary Barchok is the third Governor of Bomet County, following the demise of Governor Laboso. He will be working with his deputy governor to champion and complete the projects started by Laboso.
