East African School Games Fixtures Released ¶
FEASSSA has published fixtures for the 18th edition of the regional competition, set to take place in Arusha, Tanzania from August 17-24.
Schools from six countries, including Kenya, Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, Zanzibar, and Rwanda, will compete for titles in various sports.
In rugby, volleyball, and hockey, where Kenya has traditionally dominated, three teams in each discipline will compete in Tanzania.
East African champions Upper Hill will lead Kenya's assault in the rugby sevens, alongside domestic rivals Laiser Hill and St. Peters Mumias.
The teams competing in the rugby sevens are Upper Hill School, Kira College, Jinja Secondary School, Laiser Hill High School, LTP School, Hana International School, and St. Peters Mumias High School.
In the 15s version, it will be a contest between Kenya and Uganda, with the matches played in a round-robin format.
The teams competing in the 15s version are Kakamega High School, St. Mary's Kisubi, Kangaru School, Natre School, and Namilyango College.
In volleyball, four-time champions Kwanthanze will be eyeing a second successive title in Arusha, where they have been paired against St. Alloys of Rwanda and Mkalapa from Tanzania.
The new national volleyball boys' champions, Mogonga Secondary School, were feted by Kisii Governor James Ongwae with Sh250,000 as a token of appreciation for their historic performance.
The Kisii-based team completed their mesmeric run in the national games with a maiden volleyball title after dismissing Rift Valley's Lelmokwo by straight sets in the finals held in Kisumu.
The teams competing in the volleyball boys' category are PS Karubanda School, Don Bosco Gatenga School, Lelmokwo High School, Tuangoma Secondary School, Stahiza Secondary School, Mogonga High School, Lt St Luc School, Mbogo Mixed School, IPRC Karongi School, Dynamic Secondary School, and Milambo Secondary School.
The teams competing in the volleyball girls' category are Kwathanze Girls High School, St Alloys School, Mukalapa School, Bukeye Secondary School, Kinaawa High School, Makongo School, Soweto Secondary School, Trust High School, GS Indangaburezi, and Cheptil High School.
The teams competing in the basketball boys' category are LDK School, Don Bosco School, Laiser Hill High School, LL Tanganyika, Kibuli Secondary School, Buddo Secondary School, Seroma Christian High School, St Marie Reine College, Galanos Secondary School, and Dagoretti Boys High School.
The teams competing in the basketball girls' category are St Mary's Kitende School, STE Bernadette School, Joseph and Mary Secondary School, Olukeswa Secondary School, Nabisunsa Girls School, Kaya Tiwi Secondary School, Buruburu Girls High School, Machame School, St Noah Girls School, and St Therese Gitega School.
The teams competing in the football boys' category are Buddo Secondary School, Standard High School, Lindi Secondary School, St Anthony Boys High School, LNL Ngozi School, Jinja Secondary School, Vwawa Secondary School, Alliance Secondary School, LDK School, SLB School, Dagoretti Boys High School, St Mary's Kitende, and Ruwuiko School.
