German international Shkodran Mustafi, 27, won the World Cup in 2014 with Germany before joining Arsenal in 2016, but has been struggling since his arrival.

According to reports, Arsenal are set to allow Mustafi to leave after completing deals for Chelsea's David Luiz and Celtic's Kieran Tierney.

Luiz is expected to sign with Arsenal today after missing Chelsea training on Wednesday in a bid to force through a move across London.

Unai Emery, Arsenal's tactician, has been under pressure to mend his leaky defense after Laurent Koscielny left the club to join French side Bordeaux.

Despite being short of class in central defense, Emery is prepared to listen to suitable offers for Mustafi.

Leading media outlets, including Sky Sports, are now reporting on the possible departure of the German international.

They claim that Mustafi could depart the club either permanently or temporarily, with the likely destination being France.

On hearing the news, Arsenal fans took to social media to express their delight.

"Mustafi leaving would be a dream," wrote one fan.

"Don't get my hopes up on Mustafi leaving... I can't stand the disappointment if it doesn't happen," added another.
