On February 10, 2018, a woman's birthday celebration turned into a nightmare when she was gang raped by two Kenya Sevens players at her apartment in Nairobi's Highrise Estate.

The incident was reported to the authorities, and the two players, Frank Wanyama and Alex Olaba, were charged with the offense in April 2019. They denied the charge and were released on bond on April 23, 2019.

However, the case took a dramatic turn when the DCI took up the investigation, and the two players were found guilty of rape. The sentencing was initially set for August 9, 2019, but it was cancelled five times due to Olaba's repeated absences from court hearings.

Despite their initial denials, the two players were quick to point out that their sexual relations with the woman were consensual, claiming that they had prior agreement among the three. However, the court found them guilty, and they are set to be sentenced on August 9, 2019.
