On Wednesday night, a member of the notorious Wakali Kwanza gang met his demise in Mtopanga, Kisauni, Mombasa County.
According to Kisauni Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Julius Kiragu, the suspected gang member was shot dead by police officers on patrol at around 9pm.
Three other gang members, who were with the deceased, managed to escape with bullet wounds.
Following a series of attacks by the Wakali Kwanza gang on Monday night, which left 14 people injured, police have been on high alert in Kisauni and Bamburi.
Since Monday, eight people have been arrested in connection with the gang's activities, with three of them already arraigned in court.
The three suspects who have appeared in court are Jackson Okelo, Paul Ayub, and 17-year-old Ibrahim Mohammed Hamdan.
On Monday night, the gang descended on residents of Kwa Bulo, Lake View, and Bamburi, robbing and slashing anyone in their path, causing chaos and panic among the residents.
