Manchester United Reaches Agreement with Inter Milan for Romelu Lukaku ¶
Manchester United has agreed to transfer Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan for a reported £74 million, bringing an end to the striker's two-year tenure at Old Trafford.
The deal comes after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, with United initially rejecting a £54 million bid for Lukaku in July. However, the two parties eventually agreed on a higher fee, with Inter Milan reportedly willing to pay up to £75 million for the Belgian striker.
Lukaku, 26, has been linked with a move away from Manchester United for several weeks, with Juventus also reportedly interested in signing him. However, the Italian club's interest was ultimately dropped due to the high wages demanded by Lukaku's agent, Federico Pastorello.
According to reports, Lukaku's agent was forced to travel to London on August 7 to negotiate a deal with Manchester United, which ultimately led to the agreement with Inter Milan.
Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte has expressed his delight at the signing, stating that Lukaku is his top target for the transfer window. Lukaku has been training with his former club Anderlecht in Belgium, but is expected to join Inter Milan soon.
Manchester United's decision to sell Lukaku comes after a disappointing start to the season, with the striker failing to impress in his two years at the club. The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days, with Lukaku set to become the latest high-profile player to leave Manchester United this summer.
