James Ndunda, the leading golfer from Machakos, is set to face stiff competition in the upcoming Equity Bank sponsored golf tournament at the Machakos Club Course.

Having recently emerged victorious in the KCB golf tournament, Ndunda will be a force to be reckoned with as he takes on the best golfers in the region.

Other notable players participating in the tournament include former captain Larry Wambua, Jackson Nzioki, Francis Njeru, club chairman Swarn Singh, Tim Ruhiu, Victor Mutwii, Munyao Kamba, and Fred Kilonzi.

Club captain Musembi Katuku expressed confidence in the course's condition, stating, "We have done everything possible to make sure that the course is in a perfect condition for the event."

Equity Bank's Machakos branch manager, Boniface Kyengo, added, "This is our first time to sponsor such an event at Machakos, and we decided to do so because we want to give back to the society as well as bringing out clients and potential ones together in a social atmosphere."

Meanwhile, in Nakuru, six junior teams from different regions will be competing in the Moses Tanui Inter-Regional Junior golf tournament at the Nakuru Golf Club course.

Elsewhere, the 2019 Nyanza Open will feature a smaller field of 48 players at the Nyanza Golf Club course.
