On a sweltering Wednesday afternoon, the Homa Bay County Assembly was interrupted by a rather unusual occurrence. Published on August 8, 2019, the incident unfolded when Homa Bay Town East MCA Juma Awuor was debating the lack of shades in markets.

Proceedings were temporarily suspended as the pungent smell wafted through the chamber, prompting the presiding speaker, Edwin Kakach, to intervene.

Central Karachuonyo MCA Julius Gaya stood up and accused one of his colleagues of being responsible for the foul odor, sparking a heated argument.

The accused MCA denied the allegations, stating, 'I am not the one. I cannot do such a thing in front of my colleagues.'

However, before the assembly's sergeants could bring in air fresheners, the bad odor had cleared, and proceedings continued without interruptions.
