On a sweltering Wednesday afternoon, the Homa Bay County Assembly was interrupted by a rather unexpected and pungent issue.

Proceedings were temporarily suspended after a member allegedly let out a loud fart during debate, causing a stir among the assembly members.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred during a heated debate on the lack of shades in markets, with Homa Bay Town East MCA Juma Awuor on the floor.

Central Karachuonyo MCA Julius Gaya stood up and accused one of his colleagues of being responsible for the foul smell, prompting a heated argument among the male MCAs.

The accused MCA denied the allegations, stating, 'I am not the one. I cannot do such a thing in front of my colleagues.'

However, before the assembly's sergeants could bring in air fresheners as ordered by the Speaker, the bad odor had cleared, and proceedings continued without interruptions.
