Chris Kirubi, one of Kenya's most successful entrepreneurs, has returned to the United States for further cancer treatment, Business Today has confirmed.
According to sources, Kirubi, who was first flown to the US in November 2017, had appeared to be on his way to recovery and had even resumed his role as a DJ on Capital FM's breakfast show.
However, he has now returned to the top US hospital for further treatment, with sources indicating that he started feeling unwell again.
Kirubi, who owns Capital FM and several other publicly listed and private companies, is the single-largest shareholder of Centum Investments with a 28.64% stake.
He has been a vocal advocate for cancer awareness and has used his platform to encourage entrepreneurs to avoid procrastination and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
On World Cancer Day, Kirubi expressed hope that one day the world will be cancer-free, urging everyone to go for cancer screening sessions and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
He also called on the government to raise awareness on how to reduce cancer risk and provide affordable treatment to those diagnosed.
