Gor Mahia has appointed Finnish coach Steven Pollack as their new head coach on a two-year contract.

Pollack, 58, arrived in Nairobi on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, to take over from Turkish tactician Hasan Oktay, who resigned citing personal matters back in Europe.

During his unveiling on Thursday, August 8, 2019, Pollack expressed his excitement to be at the club, stating, 'I have tried so much to be here, last year I tried but finally, am here. I am here to work and not on a vacation everybody will feel my presence here.'

Present during the unveiling were club Chairman Ambrose Rachier, Vice-Chair John Pesa, the club's treasurer Madam Sally Bollo, and other members.

Pollack's immediate assignment will be to guide Gor Mahia past Black Eagles of Burundi in the CAF Champions League preliminary round starting with the first leg away in Bujumbura on Sunday.
