Samsung Unveils Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ in Kenya ¶
On August 7, 2019, Samsung announced the launch of its new Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ smartphones in Kenya, marking a significant shift in the company's strategy for its flagship Note series.
The event, held at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn, New York, saw Samsung unveil not one, but two models of the Galaxy Note, a departure from its previous approach of releasing a single variant.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ are designed to cater to different market segments, with the latter being the more premium offering. The Note 10+ is also set to support 5G networks, making it an attractive option for users in countries with widespread 5G coverage.
One of the notable differences between the two devices is the display size, with the Note 10 featuring a 6.3-inch screen, while the Note 10+ boasts a larger 6.8-inch display. The Note 10+ also has a more premium design, with a nearly bezel-less display and a larger battery capacity.
Another key difference is the camera department, with the Note 10+ featuring a higher-resolution camera sensor and support for 8K video recording. The Note 10, on the other hand, has a lower-resolution camera sensor and limited video recording capabilities.
Both devices run on Samsung's One UI software, which offers a range of features, including on-screen recording, a feature that was previously exclusive to Huawei's flagship devices. The Note 10 and Note 10+ also come with Samsung's DeX (Desktop Experience) feature, which allows users to connect their device to an external monitor and use it as a desktop computer.
Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ in Kenya are set to start on August 15th, with pricing starting at Kshs 104,000 for the base model.
As part of its partnership with Microsoft, Samsung has integrated OneDrive into the Note 10's image gallery, allowing users to access their cloud storage directly from the device. The partnership also enables seamless software integration with Microsoft's Windows platform, making it easier for users to mirror their mobile device on their desktop machine.
The Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ also come with a range of other features, including support for Samsung's S Pen stylus, which has been upgraded with new features, such as the ability to use gestures to perform various tasks.
