Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has set his sights on a new frontier for the Sonko Rescue Team, with plans to expand its operations across Africa.
On August 8, 2019, Sonko was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Excellence in Dubai, a recognition of his long-standing contributions to service.
During the ceremony, Sonko expressed his gratitude and stated that the honorary degree had challenged him to do more for the community.
"To this end, I personally commit to extend the works of the Sonko Rescue Team to the larger East African Region, and later across to Africa," Sonko said.
The Sonko Rescue Team, founded by Sonko, has already made a significant impact in Nairobi, employing hundreds of youths and taking over various county operations.
However, it remains to be seen how Sonko will realize his ambitious dream, given that the team has not yet extended its operations to any of the other 47 counties in Kenya.
