On August 8, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko announced plans to expand the Sonko Rescue Team's services to countries in the East African Community.

During an honorary Doctorate in Excellence ceremony in Dubai, Sonko expressed his ambition to extend the team's operations across Africa.

Founded by Sonko, the Sonko Rescue Team has been involved in various county operations, including cleaning exercises and beautification of roads and streets.

However, the team's operations are currently limited to Nairobi, and it remains to be seen how Sonko will realize his dream of expanding the team's services across the continent.
