On August 8, 2019, a notorious armed robber met his end in a hail of bullets in Nairobi's Kariobangi South area.
David Gitau Kimani, a man with a reputation for terrorizing the people of Tigoni in Kiambu County, was gunned down in a fierce fire exchange with the police.
According to the police, they ambushed Gitau in his hideout, where he was with an unidentified female, and ordered him to open the door and surrender for arrest.
However, Gitau reportedly fired at the police eight times, prompting them to return fire and kill both him and his companion instantly.
The police recovered a pistol with 18 rounds of ammunition from the scene.
