Wendy Waeni, a Kenyan gymnast, has made headlines after claiming on live TV that she was exploited by her former manager, Joe Mwangi. According to her, she traveled the world to perform, but never received a penny from her shows.

Waeni, who was featured on Jeff Koinange's show, alleged that she and her mother lived in poverty, with her mother selling cigarettes and sweets to make ends meet. She claimed that Joe Mwangi, her former manager, was responsible for her financial struggles.

Waeni's allegations were made on August 8, 2019, and have since sparked a heated debate on social media. In a series of tweets, Joe Mwangi denied the allegations, stating that he never left the country with Waeni.

He also questioned why Waeni's mother allowed her to be exploited for five years, saying, 'Which parent in this world will allow their kid to be misused for not 1 month, not 1 year, but 5 years?' Mwangi also suggested that Waeni's interview with Jeff Koinange was scripted.

As the debate continues, many are left wondering what really happened between Waeni and Mwangi. One thing is certain, however - the gymnast's allegations have sparked a conversation about exploitation and the treatment of young artists in the entertainment industry.
