Comedian Anne Kansiime's traditional wedding was the talk of the town six years ago, but what made it even more remarkable was the fact that she paid her own dowry. In a recent episode of her 'Ann and Nana' talk show, Kansiime revealed that love made her take on the responsibility of paying her bride price.
According to Kansiime, she was so in love with her husband that she wanted to make him able to afford her as far as dowry was concerned. However, she later realized that this wasn't the way things should go, and that a man should take up his role and pay the bride price even if he has little.
Speaking candidly about her experience, Kansiime confessed, 'You know when you love someone, all you want to do is make them able to pay for you, able to afford you as far as dowry is concerned.' She also revealed that she accused her husband of marrying her long enough for the whole world to believe it, but later realized that he hadn't taken up his role as a husband.
After her breakup with Gerald Ojok in 2017, Kansiime delivered the sad news during a Q&A session with her fans. When a fan questioned her split and called it a bad decision, Anne replied, 'How sure are you there was God in the union in the first place my ninja!? Let's all respectful stay in our lane my brother.'
Despite her shocking dowry revelation and breakup, Anne maintains that she still believes she will have her happy ending.
