On August 8, 2019, Arsenal announced that they had agreed a transfer fee with Celtic to sign Kieran Tierney, a Scottish left-back.
Tierney is on his way to London to complete a medical ahead of a deadline day switch, marking the Gunners' fifth signing of the season.
Following the £72million signing of Nicolas Pepe, Arsenal have made a significant push to secure Tierney's services, having previously had a £25million bid rejected.
Despite budget restrictions, the club was able to secure the transfer, with Tierney set to sign a five-year contract.
With the deal now in place, Arsenal's attention will shift to finding a centre-back before the transfer window closes, with David Luiz emerging as a surprise target.
Chelsea are open to selling Luiz, who has failed to train with the Blues first team, and is hopeful of pushing through a move to north London for a reported £8million.
