Microsoft Appoints Jack Ngare as First Managing Director of Africa Development Centre in Nairobi

Microsoft has launched its Africa Development Centre (ADC) in Nairobi, marking a significant milestone in the company's expansion in Africa.

At the helm of this new centre is Jack Ngare, a seasoned executive with over 15 years of experience in management, telecommunications, financial services, and emerging technology.

Ngare joins Microsoft from Equity Bank, where he served as the Managing Director of Finserve, the lender's virtual mobile money operator, for the past one and a half years.

Before his appointment as Finserve MD, Ngare worked as Technology and Innovations General Manager at Equity Group for four years.

Ngare's extensive experience spans various roles at Stanbic Bank, NIC Bank, and British Telecom, with duties in the UK, Saudi Arabia, Peru, and Japan.

He holds a Master's degree in Management from Harvard University, a Master's degree in Advanced Computer Science, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Leicester.

Microsoft's research and development facility in Nairobi was opened in May, and the ADC is the first of its kind on the continent.
