On August 8, 2019, the DCI Director George Kinoti met with a team from KISM led by Chairman Eng. Chris Oanda to lay the groundwork for a partnership aimed at reducing public fund theft.
The collaboration is a significant step towards sealing loopholes in the procurement process, which is often exploited by individuals to misappropriate government funds.
According to the DCI, once the partnership is finalized, KISM officers will train DCI officers to provide expert opinions on cases involving procurement processes.
Speaking at the meeting, Director Kinoti emphasized the need for the collaboration, stating that most theft of government resources occurs through the procurement process.
He noted that sealing these loopholes would lead to a significant reduction in the misappropriation of government funds.
