On August 7, 2019, Samsung and Microsoft announced a significant partnership to enhance the integration between Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 and Windows PCs. This move aims to challenge Apple's iPhone market dominance, which has been a long-standing issue for Samsung.

During the Unpacking event of the Galaxy Note 10, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized the importance of this partnership. He stated, 'From calls and text messages to emails and photos, we're making these everyday experiences great and the interactions between all the devices seamless.'

The partnership will allow Samsung's mobile users to make and receive calls on their PC later this year. Additionally, the Galaxy Note 10 will come with Microsoft's OneDrive service to store photos, as well as the Outlook email program and Office productivity suite of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Analysts believe that this partnership will benefit both companies. Creative Strategies analyst Carolina Milanesi said, 'The ability to take that magic between an iPhone and Mac and bring that to Samsung is big.' Anshel Sag, an analyst at Moor Insights & Strategy, added, 'Microsoft may also benefit from offering access to Microsoft services in a way that's not just through an app, but rather directly integrated into the phone.'

As a result of this partnership, Microsoft may start selling Samsung's Galaxy Note 10 in its stores, which would be a significant step for the company.
